Alberto Maretti is a photographer, videomaker and director with over fifteen years of experience in the field of visual documentation, specialized in social issues and human rights. After obtaining a Master in Visual Communication and one in Photojournalism at the John Kaverdash Academy in Milan, he refined his techniques both in the darkroom and in digital post-production. In 2015 he attended the War Reporting Training Camp, a HEFAT course for journalists working in conflict zones, an experience that strongly influenced his approach in crisis areas.
His professional activity began in 2009 as a freelance photographer, with a strong interest in reportage and visual narration in crisis contexts.
Since 2015 he has dedicated himself to videomaking, expanding his technical skills from editing to sound design, up to directing. In 2020 he began collaborating with RSI as a documentary director, while continuing to create photographic and video reportages on social and humanitarian issues.
Alberto has worked in many countries, including Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia, documenting social crises, environmental issues and human rights issues. His work stands out for its deep immersion in the contexts he describes, privileging direct contact with people, always trying to tell authentic stories with an empathetic approach and putting human experience in all its forms at the center.
