Alberto Maretti is a photographer, documentary filmmaker, and director with over fifteen years of experience in visual storytelling, focusing on social issues and human rights. He began his career as a freelance photographer, developing a strong interest in reportage from crisis zones. During this time, he enhanced his field expertise by completing a HEFAT safety course for journalists.

Over the years, he expanded into documentary filmmaking, taking on cinematography and editing, and gradually moved into directing through hands-on experience, technical experimentation, and collaboration with other professionals in the field.

He has produced photographic reports and documentaries on social, environmental, and human rights issues, collaborating with international publications and organizations across Europe, Africa, Latin America, and Asia.

In 2025, he founded Nibari, a visual production studio that blends aesthetic research with social storytelling, exploring new languages of visual narration while keeping his work dynamic and evolving.
